The National Academy of Art is once again visiting the Art Gallery in the city of Dobrich. This time the focus is on the Department of Book, Illustration, Printed Graphics. The exhibition Book! will be opened on 27 February 2025 in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the National Academy of Art and leader of the Master’s degree programme in Illustration, Assoc. Prof. Regina Dalkalacheva, PhD, and of Assoc. Prof. Kapka Kaneva, PhD. It presents projects and book scale models of graduates–Bachelors and Masters–from Class of 2024.
Within the parameters of the assignment, the Bachelors are challenged to create their first fully original children's books, which are also of non-standard spatial form. The young people are the creators not only of the illustrations and the plastic book constructions, but also of the textual content.
The Master graduates in Illustration and in Book Art (two of the five Master's degree programmes in the Department) visibly build on the skills acquired in the Bachelor's course of study with their projects for independent authorship publications and an overall publishing concept.
The future book artists have created a series of unique, diverse and impactful works that we hope to see in bookstores soon.
