CENTURY OF STYLE. History of the 20th century fashion

The student exhibition CENTURY OF STYLE is inspired by the 20th century fashion and is presenting a unique perspective at the evolution of fashion styles and trends throughout the different decades of the last century. In each of the 10 textile collage panels, the students from the Department of Fashion Design at the National Academy of Art recreate important moments from the history of fashion by using old clothes provided by MALL Serdika and the Bulgarian Red Cross.

The exhibition aims to present the social aspects of overconsumption and manufacturing of clothes on a global scale, and to illustrate the history of the 20th century fashion.

The final image is encoded in a QR code, which visitors can scan to find out what fashion of the future will be in the young artists' opinion. The exhibition is a vivid proof of the young designers' creativity and imagination. They tell the story and convey the development of the last century fashion trends, and in parallel share their own ideas about the future of fashion.
