Exhibition of the Department of Woodcarving opened at St Luka National High School of Applied Arts

On 17 March 2025, an exhibition of the Department of Woodcarving was opened in the gallery of the St Luka National High School of Applied Arts, which proved to be of great interest to students and teachers.
 
The exhibition is the first event of the program to mark the 125th anniversary of the establishment of the Department at the National Academy of Art and part of the projects "The Departments of the National Academy of Art", which the St Luka National High School of Applied Arts is implementing. The exhibition presents both works by students pursuing the Bachelor's degree programes and panels telling the Department's rich history and academic achievements.
 
The event was attended by the Academy's management body with the Rector, Prof. Georgi Iankov at the head and the teaching staff of the Department of Woodcarving.
 
Ch. Asst. Prof. Maria Miteva, PhD, from the Institute for Art Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences presented the most important historical moments and the main teachers in the Department of Woodcarving, who contributed to the training of generations of artists.
