On 5 February 2026, 7:00 , the exhibition FASHION 2025. CIRCLE in*, SYMBIOSIS and SURREALISM will be opened at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin, presenting works by BA students from the Department of Fashion Design at the National Academy of Art.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 25th anniversary since the establishment of the BA programme and shows completed educational and diploma projects of its graduates. The curatorial project unites the creative pursuits of young designers in three conceptual themes: CIRCLE, SYMBIOSIS and SURREALISM.

The theme CIRCLE in* weaves the principles of the circular economy into three different sub-themes: Urban Techno-Conformity, Reimagined Cultural Heritage, and The Nature Cycle in Fashion. Each embodies a unique aspect–from innovative urban designs to the triumph of global cultural heritage and the harmonious integration of natural processes. The work of the graduating students represents a commitment to rethinking the future of fashion through innovative and responsible practices in order to create contemporary, functional, original fashion collections with opportunities to be actually applicable in contemporary urban environment.

SYMBIOSIS is an interdisciplinary project, which unites students from the National Academy of Art with the aim to explore and create a bridge between art and nature. The main message of this segment is  bound to one of the leading aspects of sustainable fashion – biodiversity. The project involves creating fashion garments inspired by exhibits from the National Museum of Natural History, with students focusing on developing garments with minimal waste.

The SURREALISM collection was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Surrealism art movement. The extremely rich theme is visually unified in one coloуr – gray, as students interpret the movement’s legacy through experiments with silhouette, structures, construction, and technological solutions.
