The conference 130 YEARS OF NATIONAL ACADEMY OF ART. TRADITION AND MODERNITY is dedicated to the 130th anniversary since the founding of the National Academy of Art.
 
This international forum is a major part among the numerous initiatives and artistic events planned to be held during the anniversary year 2026. The aim of the event is to present the history and current prospects in the development of the National Academy of Art–the oldest higher education institution for training of professional artists, which was established with a decree of Prince Ferdinand in 1896. The conference offers a platform for debate on contemporary methods and good practices in education, trends in the dynamics of the visual arts, creative strategies in the cultural field and the place of creative individuals in the contemporary world of art.
 
The conference will be attended by prominent scientists, art historians, lecturers and individuals who have proven their commitment to the mission of the National Academy of Art, from Bulgaria and other countries. The presented reports will be published by the National Academy of Art in a peer-reviewed and refereed scientific collection of the same name.
