The Czech Center in Sofia and one of the largest Czech galleries–GASK (Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region)–are implementing a joint project, which will be presented on 24 April 2025, 6:00 pm at the Atelier Gallery of the National Academy of Art – Burgas Branch. MONOSKOP is an exhibition of paintings, drawings and objects by the Czech artist Jakub Janovský and the curator Petr Vaňous.
The exhibition is realised with the support of the Central Bohemian Region.
Jakub Janovský (b. 1984) graduated from the Drawing Studio of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. His artistic expression often includes various media, primarily hanging paintings, sculpture, installation and interventional drawing. His work predominantly deals with childhood and adolescence through an introspection. His work is shown in a number of public and private institutions, such as the National Gallery in Prague, the Prague City Gallery, the COLLET Prague/Munich collection, etc.
