MONOTYPE – creative workshop on paper colouring
2025.04.28

30 April 2025 (Wednesday), 2:00 pm, Atelier 404, New Academic Building
National Academy of Art, 1 Shipka Street, Sofia
The MONOTYPE creative workshop is the first in a series of workshops dedicated to the various methods of paper coloring, organised by the Department of Poster and Visual Communication. Like each of the upcoming workshops, this one is an occasion for creative inspiration that goes beyond its initial objectives and can become a provocation to create artworks with not only applied value, but also independent artistic significance. The wide range of techniques allows endless experiments, where the artist's idea, emotion and chance go hand in hand.
Within three hours, students will be able to get acquainted with the theoretical aspects of monotype, and some of them will also be able to realise their projects during the practical part of the workshop. The number of places for the practical part is limited to the first ten participants. Others wishing to participate need to bring the following materials: paints (optional – oil, ink, watercolour, tempera), brushes, palette knives, linseed oil.
The creative workshop will be led by Rada Pilyushka, teacher at the National Academy of Art, prominent artist and long-time expert in the field.
The project is implemented within the framework of the 2025 Competition for Funding Projects on the Scientific Research and Artistic Activities at the National Academy of Art.
