Sofia City Municipality and the three national art academies signed Memorandum of Cooperation

On 17 April 2025, in the emblematic building of the Sofia City Municipality at 1 Paris Street, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Sofia City Municipality, National Academy of Art, the Krustyo Sarafov National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts, and Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Music Academy. The document was signed by the Mayor of Sofia, Mr Vassil Terziev, and the Rectors of the three national art academies – Prof. Georgi Iankov, Prof. Miroslav Dachev, DSc (Phil.), and Prof. Sava Dimitrov, PhD.
The main objectives of the memorandum provide an opportunity to conduct joint activities and educational programmes aimed at promoting the art of young contemporary artists, the creation of new art spaces, and the establishment of Sofia as a cultural capital – a creative and educational centre.
The Mayor of Sofia, Vassil Terziev, and the Rectors of the three art academies declared their readiness and ideas for generating activities, events and initiatives to promote the art of young people with the assistance of the Sofia City Municipality.
Part of the document is also the idea of initiating a festive week of arts on the occasion of the Sofia City holiday.
