The National Academy of Art is an institution where knowledge, professionalism and human support go hand in hand. Here, the lecturers are not only established artists and active participants in the artistic life, but also mentors who guide their students with attention, dedication and personal commitment to their development.
With this in mind, the 4th-year student Dimitar Ivanov, pursuing the BA programme in Poster and Visual Communication, received special recognition from his lecturer, Prof. Nikolay Mladenov, PhD, for his creative achievements and overall performance during the four-year course of study.
As a sign of support and faith in the young artist's potential, Prof. Mladenov–laureate of this year’s edition of the International Triennial of Stage Poster (for overall performance)–donated part of his prize money, thereby covering the tuition fee for the final semester of his graduating student. The gesture is intended as an additional creative incentive for the student's successful graduation and future professional realisation.
This example clearly shows why the National Academy of Art is a unique institution–a place where high professional standards are combined with humanity, continuity and genuine care for young artists.
As I intend to continue to incentivise my students, I announce that two creative awards will be granted to 2 students during the next academic year, that is, payment of one semester tuition fee due in the winter and and the summer semester, respectively. As a lecturer, I have a mission regarding my students and their creative growth. The criterion for the selecting awardees is my lecturer's assessment of their work – both in terms of skills and talent, and for efforts and progress during the particular semester, shared Prof. Mladenov.
