The National Academy of Art and the #soSofia platform are presenting the poster exhibition "Symbols of the Neighbourhood"

Students from the Department of Poster and Visual Communication at the National Academy of Art created original posters dedicated to emblematic places, buildings and objects in Sofia, part of the Symbols of the Neighborhood campaign organised by the #soSofia platform.
On 17 September 2025, Sofia City Day and the Feast of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope and Love and their Mother Sofia, at 6:00 pm outside the building of the Krasno Selo Municipal Cultural Institute the symbols of the capital's neighbourhoods will be announced.
Through an online vote held in the spring of 2025, the city's residents nominated the symbols that best reflect the spirit and history of the areas in which they live. The jury, composing Assoc. Prof. Veneta Handzhiyska-Yankulova, PhD, Director of the Regional History Museum – Sofia, Anton Penev, Director of the Tourism Operational Programme, Ivelina Kyuchukova, Director of the Krasno Selo Regional Historical Museum, and Dimitrina Spassova, Head of the Public Relations Department at the National Academy of Art, selected 36 symbols for the capital's neighbourhoods, three for each of the neighbourhoods Geo Milev, Mladost, Lyulin, Nadezhda, Druzhba, Hadji Dimitar, Banishora, Ivan Vazov, Lozenets, Krasno Selo, Ovcha Kupel and Knyazhevo.
Under the guidance of Assoc. Prof. Nenko Atanasov, PhD, Department of Poster and Visual Communication at the National Academy of Art, students pursuing the same-named Bachelor's degree programme, Dimitar Ivanov, Polina Georgieva, Victoria Gigova, Viktor Petrov and Ivena-Nikol Nikolova and Zornitsa Ioveva, Master's degree programme in Visual Communication, created their own original posters inspired by the symbols of the neighborhoods.
The photo exhibition Sketches of Sofia and stories from "Bohemian Sofia" will be presented during the event.
The initiative is implemented with the support of the Culture Programme of Sofia City Municipality, Visit Sofia, Krasno Selo Municipal Cultural Institute and the National Academy of Art.
