2021.10.22

At the beginning of October this year, the Department of Poster and Visual Communication at the National Academy of Art and Sofia Theatre launched a joint initiative for creatibg theatrical posters for the stage production "The Flowers" by Teodora Ivanova-Dodo, winner of the Sixth Sofia Non-Anonymous Competition for writing a contemporary Bulgarian play.
The project was an educational assignment for the third-year Poster & Visual Communication students tutored by Prof. Georgi Iankov and Ch. Asst. Dr. Nenko Atanasov. The play script was available to the students and they also had the opportunity to observe the rehearsal process. As a result, within one week a total of 15 posters were created by Bozhidara Dimitrova, Valeri Dimitrov, Venelina Petkova, Gabriel Petrov, Emilia Lazoroska, Ivana Angelova, Lyuboslav Boyanov, Malvina Voeva, Maria Nikolova, Mina Dicheva, Monika Radeva, Radina Simeonova, Rosena Todorova, Simeon Dimitrov and Tea Antonova.
The jury, represented by Iriney Konstantinov, the manager of Sofia Theatre, and the director Kalin Angelov, selected a winner -- the project of Venelina Petkova, which will be one of the two official posters of the show "The Flowers" and part of all the announcements for the show .
The poster collection was exhibited on 19 October 2021 in the lobby area of Sofia Theatre and was part of the play preview. The exhibition will accompany each staging of "The Flowers" and be a dazzling highlight in the calendar of the theatre.
