2026.03.10

On 10 March 2026, at Academia Gallery, the Rector of the National Academy of Art, Prof. Georgi Iankov, and the Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio, Milen Mitev, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the aim of creating conditions for supporting and promoting Bulgarian education, culture and art. With this act, the two institutions are strengthening and building on their long-standing partnership, directing efforts towards the implementation and coverage of joint projects and initiatives dedicated to socially significant causes, aimed at the dissemination and presentation of the achievements, history and cultural production of the two institutions.

During the event, the Rector, Prof. Georgi Iankov, emphasised that the cooperation between the Bulgarian National Radio and the National Academy of Art has existed for many years. “The act with which we officially declare our partnership today by signing a Memorandum, I believe, will further strengthen our mutual activity, which will develop in many directions. I am happy that the emphasis on our cooperation is taking place in the year in which we celebrate the 130th anniversary of the Academy."

The Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio, Milen Mitev, said that the two institutions have a national and public status, which implies their natural partnership and it is logical for them to meet the expectations of society, extending a hand and helping each other. “An important point of our current partnership is the deep connection between speech and fine arts. We, at the radio, believe that by describing reality we can give people knowledge and more clarity, as well as spiritual charge, inspiration and meaning.” Milen Mitev expressed his joy that thanks to the agreement, more and more news about art and the artistic life in the country will be heard on the radio. Specific joint initiatives are also planned, with which the radio's art spaces will acquire a new look, thanks to the direct participation and expertise of the teachers at the National Academy of Art.
