Two premieres of Lovech Drama Theater at Azaryan Theatre (Sofia) and exhibition "Plein Air Plastic Wood Art 2021 on the theme "Theatre" in November

In November this year, Lovech Drama Theater will present for the first time to Sofia audience two of the latest productions in its repertoire - "The Spirit of Gogol" directed by Biliana Petrova, and Shakespeare's play "Measure for Measure" directed by Chris Sharkov. The performances will take place on the stage of Azaryan Theatre on 18 and 19 November at 19:00. 

During the two days, the exhibition "Plein Air Plastic Wood Art 2021 on the theme "Theatre", with works by teachers and Woodcarving students from the National Academy of Art will be presented in the area outside Azaryan Theatre. The exhibition organiser is Izabela Manolova, who designed the stage costumes for the play "The Spirit of Gogol", which is her debut as a scenographer. 

A woodcarving workshop themed "Theater" was held in September 2021 at the initiative of Lovech Drama Theater in order to enable teachers and students of woodcarving from the National Academy of Art to observe the creative process of thespians on stage and behind the scenes, as well as its impact of the performances on the audience and to turn their ideas into creative wooden products that reflect and preserve in time the spirit of the theatre. The works will remain part of a permanent exhibition in Lovech Drama Theater.

Participants in the plein air from the National Academy of Art: Assoc. Prof. Robert Tsanev - lecturer at Department of Woodcarving and currently Vice-Rector of the Academy; Anton Georgiev, PhD student at the Department of Woodcarving; Isabella Manolova, graduate from the Department of Woodcarving and organizer of the plein air; Ivana Topalova, Tsvetina Geneva, Dobromir Bonev - students at the Department of Woodcarving.
